Contact Inside the Newsroom
Questions, corrections, or a request for more detail on how CBC News studio and newsroom operations work — this is where to send it.
What to send us
We welcome questions about how CBC News production works — control rooms, studios, regional newsrooms, and field production all get read carefully. If a page explains a gallery position, a director's call, or how a live hit is fed back to air, and the answer still feels thin, tell us what you were hoping to understand.
We also welcome corrections. If something on the site is wrong or has drifted out of date, name the page and the specific point — a role, a workflow step, a piece of equipment described the wrong way — and we will look into it. Corrections that affect accuracy are our first priority.
Useful detail in a correction
- 01 The page name, so we can find it without guessing.
- 02 The exact sentence or claim that looks wrong.
- 03 What you believe is accurate instead, and how you know.
What we cannot help with
Inside the Newsroom is an independent explainer. We are not CBC, we have no access to CBC facilities, internal systems, or documents, and we cannot pass messages to CBC staff. Setting that boundary early saves you a reply you did not need.
If your question is about a CBC programme, a broadcast, a complaint, or a job, the right desk is inside CBC — not here. We would rather point you there than leave you waiting on a reply we cannot give.
How to reach us
Use the form, or write to the editorial address below. Include enough detail that we can understand the question or correction without a round of clarifying emails. If your message is about a specific page, name it — that is the fastest route to an answer.

Response times
We aim to reply to corrections quickly and to questions as time allows. This is a small editorial project, so a reply may take a few days. If your message is time-sensitive, say so in the subject line and we will read it with that in mind.
Privacy of your message
We use the information you send only to respond to your message. We do not sell it or use it for advertising. Nothing you write here is added to a mailing list, and no one outside the editorial team reads it. The privacy policy explains how personal data is handled, including how long messages are kept.
A short, specific message gets a faster answer than a long one. Two sentences and a page name beat a paragraph of context.
If you are asking about a workflow, tell us what you already know — it saves us explaining the basics twice.
Questions we get most often
Three answers cover most of what arrives in the inbox. If yours is not here, the form above is still the right place to send it.
Can you get me a tour of a CBC studio? Open Close
No. We do not arrange tours or access to CBC facilities. We are an independent explainer with no standing inside the building, so a request passed through us would simply be forwarded nowhere useful.
How do I report an error? Open Close
Send the page name and the specific point that looks wrong. We prioritize corrections that affect accuracy, so a message that names the exact sentence gets looked at first. If you can say what is correct instead, that shortens the process further.
How long does a reply take? Open Close
This is a small project, so replies may take a few days. Time-sensitive messages should say so in the subject line — that moves them to the top of the queue without needing a separate channel.
Not ready to write yet?
Most questions are already answered somewhere in the explainer. These pages cover the parts readers ask about most, and they are a good place to check before sending a message.
